It started at a kitchen table. Tom Bennett III shared his vision with his parents — Tom Jr. and Sue — and a group of veteran bankers: open a bank that combined the expertise of a big institution with the values of a community lender. Supported by more than 200 of Oklahoma's leading families, First Oklahoma Bank opened on November 4, 2009, when First Oklahoma Holdings Inc. acquired Glencoe State Bank.
Fifteen years later, that kitchen table conversation has grown into one of Oklahoma's leading local financial institutions — more than $1.26 billion in assets, 125+ bankers, and locations in Jenks, midtown Tulsa, Glencoe, and Oklahoma City. The bank approaches banking as what President and CEO Tom Bennett III calls "a ministry of serving customers, investors, community and each other."
First Oklahoma's Jenks branch is located right on South Riverfront Drive — steps from the Arkansas River, the Riverwalk, and the community it has served since the beginning. The bank has been a proud major contributor to the Jenks Public Schools Foundation, helped found Jenks CarePoint (providing free clothing and shoes to families in need), and has earned United Way's "Best of the Best" designation for 13 consecutive years.
